Azusa Pacific University Dance Company
The vision for Azusa Pacific University
Dance Company was formed as soon as
Moses Martinez transferred to APU and
realized that the school had no
established dance program. Working hard
by himself, Moses took the necessary
steps to form APDC and have it
officially recognized. An initial round
of meetings attracted about 18
interested dancers, but by the time
Moses was able to secure a place only
two remained. Thus Moses and his two
dancers danced their way through the
fall semester on the fifth floor balcony
of trinity dorms and planned like crazy
for expansion. Through all adversity,
frustrations and wanting to give up
Moses looked to God and asked Him for
strength to keep on going. Now his
company is well known in local
communities as well as the APU campus.
God has always been there with him and
continues to bless him. Moses is very
humbled by His grace and love which he
sees everyday.
