Scholarship Criteria and Conditions

CITA offers full and partial scholarships to qualifying students for programs including the Secondary Theatre Festival. Regardless of the award amount, a non-refundable membership fee to CITA must be paid in full.

The following chart uses household size and income standards to determine eligibility. Please, check your eligibility before applying for a scholarship. If your circumstances do not match the criteria listed below, you may still be eligible. Indicate your extenuating circumstances on the application form to help us better determine your eligibility.

*Household size includes all people living at your residence as a family member (spouse, siblings, grandparents, etc.) or as a non-relative if that person lives in the household. You must include yourself and all children who live with you.

Students awarded a scholarship must: Meet all submission deadlines (August 31, 2020) and pay the $50 CITA membership fee and partial tuition (if awarded a partial scholarship) before September 14, 2020. In case of emergency, or if unable to use the scholarship awarded, please contact the CITA administration staff as soon as possible as other scholarship students may be waiting for scholarship awards. If a student does not attend the festival event after receiving a scholarship, that may affect future scholarship eligibility. Inappropriate behavior at the festival may result in dismissal from the program and could affect future scholarship eligibility.

Scholarship awards do not carry over from program to program, a separate application is required for each program - links to the forms for the 2020 Secondary Theatre Festival are at the bottom of this page. Only applications completed online will be considered. For your application to be complete, you must provide your most recent tax return or another document for proof of income. Only one tax return or proof of income is required each year. Returning families applying for scholarships will need to submit new tax documents at each registration cycle.
